Using Coplu’s signature hearts as an oar to propel them forward, a man and a woman is seen rowing off with love into the vast seas ahead. In the artist’s whimsical fashion, the tall mast which is necessary to hold their sailboat upright - is made up of a tree adorned with a canopy of multi-coloured hearts. Through this, Coplu represents love as the treasure which is equally needed from both parties for a relationship to be kept afloat and blossom. Both gazing out into the light present at the far horizon ahead, Coplu presents a hopeful, optimistic and romantic image about the couple sailing into the future ahead. The surreal night seascape evokes feelings of serenity that invites viewers to take part in this magical scene.

About the artist

Born in the Turkish town of Ushak, Coplu brought into the art world his distinctive style of cartoons, filled with warm and sentimental characters that range from silly to profound. Highly recognized and exhibited, the artist has won many competitions and accolades for his artworks and has been published in various media in Turkey, South East Asia and across Europe. He has also established an Open Air Cartoon Exhibition Space and the Cartoon School of Antalya. Part of many prestigious collections, the artist has been exhibited the world over, including France, Italy, the US, Germany and Spain.
