Born in Singapore, Ponnusamy Gnanadickam (P. Gnana) is a leading painter and sculptor. He received the LASALLE Scholarship in 2002 and completed his formal training with a Diploma in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore) in 2004. His works are collected in Southeast Asia, Europe and South Asia and his paintings are in the collections of the President of the Republic of Singapore and Singapore Art Museum, as well as corporate collections such as Coutts Bank. Private collectors also hold his work, such as the Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore and Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal (Member of Parliament for Bathinda, Punjab). 14 of Gnana's large-scale abstract artworks (2 x 1.5m each) were commissioned in 2005 by Ascendas Pte Ltd for the International Tech Park in Chennai. In 2008, Gnana's works were sold at the prestigious MASTERPIECES Auction in 2008. His solo exhibition of sculptural installations and paintings, entitled "Parallel Play: A Travelling Collection of Art by P. Gnana," was presented in Kuala Lumpur in 2010 and New Delhi in 2011. Gnana made his debut in New York in 2011. In 1999, he set up an arts institution named Kalashram in South India, through which he educated and inspired more than 200 adult-students on the intricacies and appreciation of art. He is also an active member of the Sculpture Society (Singapore) and Singapore Art Society. He held 10 solo art exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions.
