About the artwork
Towering pillars of metal and glass, the Financial Centre, Marina Bay, is an arching display of modern aesthetics and a city hub for work and play alike. Having a keen architectural eye, by virtue of his past, Zhu Hong recreates the impressive spires in his own signature stylings. Once again, using a flow of obscure wipes and scrutinized detailing, the artist creates a yawning overall cityscape, but holds firmly with roots of fine texturing and structured components. Hong's contrast of wide spacing and subtle detailing are common features of his art that show case not only the dexterity and skill involved in his creations, but the shifting perspectives that can both encapsulate and refresh attuned visuals.
