About the artwork
Adi Gunawan's "True Love" is a charming bronze sculpture that beautifully captures the essence of classic romance and old-school courtship. In this intimate scene, two of Gunawan's signature rounded figures share a tender moment aboard what appears to be a graceful gondola, evoking images of moonlit Venetian canals. One figure gently plays a piano, serenading the other, who listens attentively with a soft, appreciative posture. This piece speaks to the enduring power of simple gestures and dedicated attention in relationships. The subtle curves and rich bronze patina lend a timeless quality, underscoring a love that feels both gentle and profound. Gunawan masterfully conveys the quiet intimacy of a shared journey, celebrating a form of connection that is deep, genuine, and unhurried – a perfect metaphor for the delicate dance of true affection and lasting companionship.
