About the artwork
Rainer's sculpture captures the human body in motion - freezing gestures and emotions in time to capture its ethereal nature. This piece consists of three different sculptures of the human form - two in climbing poses and one running - with all three engaged in playful interaction when viewed together. The figures bring out the cheerful and exuberant nature of humans when in groups and the various activities they indulge in. When darkness falls and the lights come on, the exquisite shadows of form, squares, body and spirit cast themselves upon the walls creating a second sculpture of light and shadow, adding a new and thrilling dimension to the overall piece.
