About the artwork

Lim Tze Peng's abstract expression of nature pulsates with a vibrant energy, hinting at the romance he found in the natural world, particularly in the banyan tree. This interwoven tapestry evokes a sense of intimacy and connection, like lovers entwined. Beneath this network, a wash of passionate pink, joyful yellow, and serene blue hues suggests the dappled light filtering through the leaves, creating an ethereal and romantic atmosphere. The dark, amorphous shape at the bottom could be interpreted as two figures merging with the tree, becoming one with nature's embrace. The artist's energetic brushwork and the interplay of colors suggest the passionate pulse of life and love found within the natural world. This abstract work transcends the literal representation of a banyan tree, capturing the emotional resonance and romantic inspiration Lim Tze Peng drew from its majestic form.
