About the artwork
Doraemon and friends fly in the sky here, along with Kaikai and Kiki - Murakami’s signature anthropomorphic characters. Below is a field of his motif of smiling colourful flowers. The subject matter depicts cheerful childhood characters, while the title speaks of a nostalgia experienced by many adults as they transition through phases of life. I wish I could do something like that is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the child-like spirit in all of us, and a playful encouragement to connect more with our inner child.
