Rainer Lagemann is an artist who uses the medium of metal steel squares welded together to showcase humans in a contemporary manner, focusing on natural form and shape which is accentuated in his works. The squares are symbolic, with each corner representing the emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of human beings. In this piece, Rainer creates a standard human torso with arms akimbo, possibly in an expression of exasperation, It could also signify an intention of readiness to act indicated by the raised left foot. Rainer deliberately leaves the interpretation open to the viewer, placing his primary focus on conveying the entirety of the human form.
