About the artwork
In this sculpture, David Kracov pays tribute to the influential American painter Jackson Pollock who was one of the main figures in the Abstract Expressionist movement. David Kracov mirrors the free form and splatters of Pollock's famous drip paintings in this psychedelic miasma of colour and form. Depicting Pollock himself at the base of the sculpture, it is as if the entire explosion of colour has emerged and taken on a life of its own from the single paintbrush and bucket of paint that Pollock holds - injecting movement and dynamism into the sculpture itself.
