5 ways to celebrate Singapore Arts Week : 22 - 30 January 2021

Singapore Art Week 2021 has officially begun! To celebrate this festive week, we at Ode to Art have put together a list of fun-filled and art-astic activities for you and your family to enjoy!

1. Light the Night Festival

Based on the theme of “______-In Progress”, the 2021 Light the Night Festival will illuminate the city’s most iconic cultural institutions such as the National Gallery of Singapore, Asian Civilisations Museum and the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. Through a variety of different artistic projections, each institution will showcase Singapore’s progress and adaptability over the past year. 2. Singapore ArtScience Museum

Immerse yourself in the digital interactive art installations at the Singapore ArtScience Museum. Comprising a range of five different featured exhibits including the Star Wars Identities: the exhibition and Future World: Where Art Meets Science, there will definitely be something for everyone! 3. Singapore International Photography Festival

This weekend, take a walk along the passage of time through these photographic works!Based on the theme of ‘Departing and Arriving’, take a peep through the lens of local and International photographers at this year’s International Photography Festival. Located at different central and well-established art spaces such as 37 Emerald Hill and the Esplanade Tunnel, these photographic artworks that will showcase different perceptions of human movement and progress over the years. 4. Grandmother Tongue

Directed by local playwright Thomas Lim, this play explores the struggle of a young man trying to connect with his 84-year-old Teochew-speaking grandmother. A familiar sentiment about the struggle of identity and language in Singapore, Grandmother Tongue examines the social costs of the Mother tongue language policy and the heartbreaking exclusion of our pioneer generation. 5.  Once Upon A Time On The Orient Express

This pop-up attraction offers visitors a chance to relieve the enthralling experiences of travellers from more than 100 years ago Featuring two original train carriages classified as National Treasures of France, this attraction features some priceless and extraordinary objects that follow the legacy of the train! At the same time, allow you to explore the tracks and landscapes witnessed over the voyages of this legendary train!
