Hong Sek Chern paints a fragment of the Shanghai Tunnel and Bridge that spans the south fork of the Yangtze River. It serves as thoroughfare between Pudong District in Shanghai and the Changxing and Chongming islands. On the left, the structure may well be the underbelly of this famous bridge, or the bridge tipped on its side whilst the buildings underfoot confuse one's perspective. Nonetheless, one feel as though he or she is travelling across the bridge towards the glass buildings in the distance, drawing ever closer to the unknown.
