About the artwork

Mauro Perucchetti's body of work combines conceptual, minimalist, and pop art traditions. A pioneer in the use of resin, he incorporates a variety of mediums such as crystals, chrome, gold, and steel - all appealing to the eyes and the sense of touch. His work is a mirror of modern day materialistic desires, fused together with an elegance and an ironic wit that seem typical of a certain kind of Italian sensibility. Mauro's art takes a critical yet light-hearted approach, relying on symbols to create meaning. He unites Pop aesthetics with social comment to address some of the most pressing and difficult issues in today's society in a way that is subtle and accessible, without being worn, appalling, or incomprehensible. Mauro is able to connect the bigger picture with the trends in today's contemporary society, skilled in bringing his messages across to his audience effectively and easily.
