About the artwork
Ronnie Ford’s landscapes capture the emotional spirit of the place, rather than simply depicting its physical appearance. Through the use of strong, vibrant colors, unconventional perspective and vivid textures, in this painting he brings the viewer’s attention to the essence of the fields, which lies beneath the surface. The composition, though not perfectly symmetric, is balanced and harmonious, and together with the carefully chosen perspective, it guides the viewer’s gaze along the fields and the winding river in the distance, all the way to the blue sky above. This piece evokes a melancholic, contemplative mood, inspired by the riches of nature.
