98.8 x 103.5cm

Lim Tze Peng writes the characters “四海为家” which translates to “regard the four corners of the world as home”. The characters written in this piece are very curved and circular, circles when used in the chinese context, signify unity, completion and wholeness. Home is like a circle, home is where you feel whole, safe and complete. In the phrase, it mentions the four corners of the world and Lim composes the painting in an oblong shape. In the chinese culture, the circle is a symbol for Heaven while the square represents the Earth.
