Experimentation, serious and sometimes meditative, has been one of the key instruments that has shaped Gnana’s creative journey, allowing him to rejuvenate in a world of constant change and fluctuating emotions. His work is subtle and almost transient, but contains a haunting quality that lingers long after you encounter it. Dealing with the balance of time and space, he moulds these intangibles into fluid dreamscapes. His art is synonymous with the metaphorical representation of the cow and his eighth solo art exhibition, "The Eternal Cow: Sculptures and Paintings by P. Gnana," was presented at the Singapore Philatelic Museum in 2009. His works reveal his Indian roots with the recurring cow motif; an icon considered sacred in Indian culture. Cows have particular importance in Hindu mythology as a vehicle of several deities from heaven to earth and as Kamadhenu; a divine cow of plenty who granted her owner whatever wishes he desired.
