About the artwork

Spanish Artist Eva Armisen is known for her child-like style, with her works often depicting simple moments in everyday life, and touching on subjects such as family, love and togetherness. With this sculpture of a dog, Armisen brings her signature, charming style into three-dimensionality. The notion of youth is reinforced by the work’s name, Toto, which references the fictional dog from the famous Oz series of children’s books by Frank Baum. The dog’s vivid red collar and its sweet gaze creates a sense of vibrancy, infusing the work with the charm that is characteristic of Armisen’s works.
