Spirituality is the main theme of Li Chen’s works, the key motivation behind his artistry. Riding the Wind shows two abstract figures, the main character with his smaller counterpart soaring alongside in the same direction. Their bodies resemble clouds, drifting along the wind in accordance and harmony. This work translates the idea of amenable harmony, as the clouds show no resistant to the haphazardness of natural winds. The cloud holds no precarious thoughts leaked by the facial expression it wears, completely satisfied and entrusting of the wind. With this work, Li Chen illustrates the spiritual faith people experience, an ecstatic state of delight.
