This poem by Tang poet Wei Yingwu is entitled <<淮上喜會梁川故人>> or A Pleasant Encounter with an Old Acquaintance from River Liang on River Huai. The full poem reads: 江汉曾为客，相逢每醉还。 浮云一别后，流水十年间。 欢笑情如旧，萧疏鬓已斑。 何因不归去，淮上有秋山。Translated, it means: When I was a traveller in the region of the Yangtze and River Han, we would come together and drink till our spirits soared before we would retire to bed. Since parting, we have been like floating clouds, or the water of a flowing river. Time flies and ten years have glided by since then. Today we gather again, it is much like the good old days, except for thinning hair and greying sides. Oh, why do you have to head north again? You leave me here on River Huai to face the mountains alone as autumn arrives.
